- Il presente percorso di ricerca nasce da un interrogativo specifico: cosa pensano e affermano i genitori della relazione con il proprio bambino durante il primo anno di vita, nel momento in cui frequentano il nido? La nascita e la cura di un figlio richiedono alla coppia e al singolo, che diventa genitore, di pensarsi famiglia. Tra genitore e bambino, nel primo anno di vita, si formano relazioni affettive, legami di attaccamento che, secondo una vasta letteratura influenzano il comportamento del bambino. I bambini sperimentano altre relazioni durature e significative con adulti diversi dai genitori e questo richiede al genitore di riflettere, modificare e a volte negoziare il proprio stile educativo con l’altro genitore e con gli adulti tra cui le educatrici di nido. Le relazioni primarie tra bambino e genitore e quelle secondarie tra bambino ed educatrice hanno caratteristiche comuni: la continuità nel tempo, la ripetitività, la vicinanza, il contatto fisico, il coinvolgimento emotivo e la cura quotidiana. Il territorio bolognese, in cui questo progetto di ricerca è stato realizzato, è caratterizzato dalla presenza di numerosi servizi per la prima infanzia (0-6 anni) e da una cultura storica sul tema della cura e della genitorialità. Nei servizi d’infanzia, l’inserimento avviene in età precocissime (anche prima del compimento del primo anno di età) e per un numero significativo di ore di frequenza giornaliera. Lo spoglio della letteratura non ha portato alla luce studi specifici sulle opinioni dei genitori in merito al loro legame di attaccamento con il bambino piccolo inserito al nido d’infanzia nel primo anno di vita. Lo scopo della presente indagine è quello di esplorare la relazione tra bambino e genitore attraverso due strumenti di ricerca: un questionario e una serie di interviste condotte ad un numero ristretto di famiglie.
- This doctoral research is based on a specific question: what do parents think and say about the relationship with their infant in the first year of life? The birth and the care of a child require to the couple and to the individual -which becomes a parent- to think themselves as family. In the first year of life, between a parent and an infant, affective relationships and attachment’ bonds are created. These relationships, according to a wide literature, influence the future behaviour of the child. At the same time, the infants have the experience of other different, significant and lasting relationships with adults (caregivers of the day nurseries), who are different from parents. Thus, parents are required to reflect, to change and sometimes negotiate own parental style with the other parent and with the other adults. The primary relationships between infant and parent, and the second ones between infant and caregiver of the day nursery have common features: the continuity over the time, the closeness, the constant and repeated physical and body contact, the emotive involvement and the daily care. This exploratory inquiry has been carried out in the city of Bologna, where the culture of childhood, of the care and of parenting are traditionally strong, along with the presence of several day care services (for the early childhood) where the infants attend since very early age for many hours at day for five days a week. The analysis of the literature does not show specific studies and research on the parents’ opinions about the attachment’s bond between them and their infant, when he/she is attending the day nursery during the first year of life. The main aim of this exploratory inquiry is to explore the relationships between infants and parents by two research instruments: a questionnaire and the interviews.
