- Le recenti innovazioni tecnologiche e la progressiva liberalizzazione del mercato hanno contribuito ad estendere le forme e le opportunità di fruizione del gioco d’azzardo. Tuttavia la specifica lente in chiave medica con cui si è guardato al fenomeno in anni recenti non ha permesso di osservare i modi in cui questo si traduce nella vita quotidiana delle persone. L’obiettivo conoscitivo della tesi è di comprendere le concrete pratiche di gioco costruite dai giovani e i significati attribuiti a tali esperienze, concentrando in maniera particolare l’analisi sui repertori giustificativi e valutativi da loro chiamati in causa. Per farlo, la ricerca adotta una prospettiva interazionista (Blumer, 1969) e la Labeling Theory di Becker (1963). La necessità di far emergere il punto di vista degli attori e la natura processuale dell’apprendimento, insieme alla volontà di comparare la specificità dei singoli giochi, ha fatto sì che ci si focalizzasse su due specifiche pratiche -scommesse sportive e poker- e su una specifica popolazione: quella giovanile. Questa scelta ha coinciso con l’adozione di una metodologia non standard attraverso le tecniche dell’intervista semi-strutturata e dell’osservazione partecipante.
- Recent technological innovations and the progressive liberalization of the market have contributed to extending the forms and opportunities for enjoying gambling. However, the specific medical lens with we looked at the phenomenon in recent years has not allowed to observe the ways in which this translates into people's daily lives. The aim of the thesis is to understand the concrete playing practices built by young people and the meanings attributed to these experiences; focusing in particular on the analysis of the repertoiresthey use for supporting their gambling practices. The research adopts an interactionist perspective (Blumer, 1969) and Becker's Labeling Theory (1963). For bringing out the point of view of the actors, the procedural nature of learning, and the desire to compare the specificity of the individual games, I focused on two specific practices - sports and poker - and on one specific population: the youth. This choice coincided with the adoption of a non-standard methodology through the techniques of semi-structured interview and participant observation.
