- L’obiettivo della tesi è quello di raccontare le storie e il percorso di internamento di alcuni emigrati e profughi ebrei tedeschi giunti in Italia nel corso degli anni ’30 del secolo scorso e all’inizio della Seconda guerra mondiale, studiando in particolar modo coloro che sono passati dal campo di concentramento di Ferramonti di Tarsia. Nella prima parte di questo lavoro è stato delineato il contesto storico in cui si sono poi innestate le diverse storie di emigrazione dalla Germania all’Italia. Ci si è quindi soffermati sulla rapida ascesa del nazismo ed è stata analizzata la cosiddetta “questione ebraica”, puntando l’attenzione sul rapporto tra gli ebrei e il nazionalsocialismo all’interno del Reich, sugli sviluppi dell’antisemitismo a livello europeo, sul problema dell’emigrazione dai territori tedeschi, e infine sull’accoglienza in Italia. Infine, ci si è trattenuti in modo specifico sul campo di concentramento di Ferramonti di Tarsia, dalla sua apertura fino agli ultimi giorni di vita. La seconda parte di questo lavoro è costituita invece da tre capitoli che portano come titolo il nome di alcune città tedesche: sono le città da cui, di volta in volta, provengono coloro le cui storie di internamento si è deciso di raccontare. In particolare, l’ordine delle città è stato stabilito in base ai dati emersi dalla ricerca, e nella scelta delle storie si è cercato di rappresentare, quanto più possibile, l’ampia casistica di fronte alla quale ci si è trovati. Le diciannove storie riportate, che fanno riferimento a quarantuno ebrei che sono transitati da Ferramonti, raccontano infatti un percorso di internamento spesso diverso da un caso all’altro, così come differenti sono stati anche il modo in cui molti ebrei tedeschi sono giunti in Italia e la conclusione del loro viaggio di migranti o profughi.
- The aim of the thesis is to tell the stories and the internment path of some German Jewish emigrants and refugees who arrived in Italy during the 30s of the last century and at the beginning of the Second World War, studying in particular those who they passed through the concentration camp of Ferramonti di Tarsia. In the first part of this work, the historical context in which the different stories of emigration from Germany to Italy were grafted was outlined. We then focused on the rapid rise of Nazism and analyzed the so-called "Jewish question", focusing on the relationship between Jews and National Socialism within the Reich, on the development of anti-Semitism at European level, on the problem of emigration from the German territories, and finally on the reception in Italy. Finally, there was a specific stay on the concentration camp of Ferramonti di Tarsia, from its opening until the last days of life. The second part of this work is instead made up of three chapters that bear the name of some German cities: they are the cities from which, from time to time, those whose internment stories we decided to tell come from. In particular, the order of the cities was established on the basis of the data that emerged from the research, and in the choice of the stories we tried to represent, as much as possible, the wide range of cases in front of which we found ourselves. The nineteen reported stories, which refer to forty-one Jews who passed through Ferramonti, in fact tell of an internment path often different from one case to another, just as the way in which many German Jews arrived in Italy were also different. the conclusion of their journey as migrants or refugees.
