- The silence characterizes two Roman goddesses: Angerona and Tacita, both mute. The first goddess, that protects the critical moment of the winter solstice, is depicted gagged, while the second, mater Larum and underworld nymph, is devoid of the tongue. The aim of this article is to analyze the semantic relationships between the two chthonic deities on the basis of the common absence of the voice.
- Il silenzio caratterizza due dee romane: Angerona e Tacita, entrambe mute. La prima divinità, che tutela il momento critico del solstizio invernale, è raffigurata imbavagliata, mentre la seconda, mater Larum e ninfa degli Inferi, è priva della lingua. L’obiettivo del presente intervento è quello di analizzare le relazioni semantiche tra le due divinità ctonie sulla base della comune assenza della voce.
