This paper presents some characteristics of Yayoi Kusama's artistic production, that is one of the best known Japanese artists in the world, who has lived in an asylum for several years. Despite being one of the most beloved artists by the public, her art meets the constant criticism and problems related to the aesthetic judgment of her works. The artistic production of Yayoi Kusama is presented in relation to her biography that influenced her art by making an artistic brand, thus very easily recognizable all over the world, of her obsessions.

Il contributo presenta alcune caratteristiche peculiari dell’arte di Yayoi Kusama, una delle artiste giapponesi più conosciute nel mondo, che da diversi anni vive in un manicomio. Pur essendo una delle artiste più amate dal pubblico, la sua attività riscontra continue critiche concernenti sopratutto il giudizio estetico delle sue opere.L'attività di Yayoi Kusama viene “riletta” nell’ottica della biografia dell'artista che ha fatto delle proprie ossessioni un brand immediatamente riconoscibile in tutto il mondo.
