Remixologia, live performance e software culture: Remix the Cinema. Intervista a Luca Acito e Alberto Casati

Remix the Cinema is a “live cinema” project created by Luca Acito and Alberto Casati. Through the practices of the remix on both visual and sound levels, the cinema is transcoded into an intense "live performance", where the filmic units are broken up, de-linearized, and recomposed according to the logics of attraction and an inter-medial synergy between pictures and music. The main objects of Remix the Cinema are silent films, especially those of the 1920s. Cinema masterpieces as The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari by Wiene, The Passion of Joan of Arc by Dryer, Häxan by Christensen and The Blood of a Poet by Cocteau were remixed and summarized in fifteen minutes circa in a "live performance" held in L'Aquila on November 15th 2018, during the conference Languages, Experiences and Soundtracks on Stage.

Remix the Cinema è il progetto di “live cinema” creato da Luca Acito e Alberto Casati. Attraverso un remix del piano visivo e di quello sonoro, il cinema viene ricodificato in un’intensa “live performance”, dove le unità filmiche vengono scomposte, de-linearizzate, e ricomposte, ovvero remixate dal vivo, secondo logiche attrattive e intermediali. Oggetto principale di Remix the Cinema sono i film muti, specialmente quelli degli anni Venti. Capolavori come Il gabinetto del dottor Caligari di Wiene, La passione di Giovanna D’Arco di Dryer, Häxan di Christensen e Il sangue di un poeta di Cocteau, sono stati remixati e condensati in una quindicina di minuti durante una “live performance” tenutasi a L’Aquila il 15 Novembre 2018, in occasione del convegno Linguaggi, esperienze e tracce sonore sulla scena.
