- Nella sua carriera ormai quarantennale, Stefano Benni ha pubblicato un gran numero di testi tra loro profondamente differenti: essi risultano difficilmente analizzabili per la complessità che li caratterizza, non tanto qualitativa quanto più quantitativa poiché incentrata sul meccanismo retorico dell’adiectio. Pare dunque utile affrontare i testi dell’autore adottando una prospettiva di tipo intertestuale, che trova la sua massima manifestazione concreta nella frequente reiterazione della tematica del cibo. Partendo da questo presupposto, è possibile intraprendere un’analisi testuale dei romanzi, incentrata sull’aspetto stilistico e organizzata in prospettiva funzionalista che permetta di comprendere i diversi usi che vengono fatti del cibo all’interno delle opere dell’autore: spunto creativo per la fantasia dell’autore, indicatore sociale, elemento metaforico, strumento per definire le caratteristiche dei personaggi. In his nearly forty-year-career, Stefano Benni published a large number of works, each of which is deeply different from one another: all of them are hardly analyzable for their complexity not so much from a quality as from a quantity point of view, because his whole framework is based on the rhetorical device of adiectio. Therefore, it is very useful to analyze the author's works with an intertextual perspective, whose peak is represented by the food theme. Starting from this assumption, it is possible to undertake a textual analysis of his novels, both focused on stylistic features and organized according to a functional standpoint which allows to understand the different uses of the food in the author’s novels: a hint for the author’s imagination, a social pointer, a metaphor, a frame to the characters’ qualities.
