Concepita come servizio ai lettori di Sciascia, la curatela per la Nave di Argo adelphiana delle Opere dell’autore siciliano da parte di Paolo Squillacioti si è rivelata un complesso e minuto lavoro di risistemazione testuale, volto all’eliminazione sia dei refusi sia delle corruttele testuali, delle quali viene offerto un cospicuo numero di esempi, nel tentativo di mostrare come la priorità dell’editore sia stata quella di offrire al lettore un testo non solo corretto, ma corrispondente a Sciascia’s edition and its readers lla volontà dell’autore. Della vicenda editoriale delle opere di Sciascia non si trova quasi traccia nel testo, bensì nella Nota del curatore, che ricostruisce genesi e intenzioni delle opere, così da fornire al lettore degli strumenti di approfondimento che non tolgano evidenza al testo stesso. This paper examines how Squillacioti edited the texts: he corrected misprints and textual errors in order to provide to the readers a text as correct as possible, without being “invasive”: in fact, the editor decided to explain his work in the Editor Note, placed at the end of the book, where he reconstructs the genesis and the evolution of Sciascia’s works.
