- L’articolo fa riferimento a un preciso gruppo di testi (Il grado zero della scrittura, Miti d’oggi, Critica e verità, Lezione, Il brusio della lingua, Barthes di Roland Barthes), traendo spunto dall’interesse che Barthes vi dimostra nei confronti di specifici cortocircuiti del discorso e del pensiero, qui definiti zone grige, per poi proiettarlo entro la sua riflessione sull’utopia e sulla letteratura. In un primo momento l’articolo insiste sulla correlazione profonda tra la critica dell’ideologia e la semiologia barthesiane allo scopo di isolare due importanti nuclei tematici: il rapporto tra potere e linguaggio e la questione dell’ambiguità della scrittura. Successivamente, il discorso viene contestualizzato entro l’indagine barthesiana sul rapporto tra utopia e letteratura, individuandone alcune forme e figure specifiche, e sul problema della referenzialità. The essay is based on a specific group of books (Writing Degree Zero, Mythologies, Criticism and Truth, Inaugural Lection, Collège de France, The Rustle of Language, Roland Barthes by Roland Barthes) and draws inspiration from the strong interest that Barthes dedicates to some particular phenomena, here defined as grey areas, which are equal to a sort of ʽshort-cutʼ in verbal expression and in the articulation of thoughts; then relates it to his reflection on literature and utopia. At first, the essay emphasizes the connection between Barthes’ semiotics and critique of ideology, in order to identify two important topics: the relation between power and language and writing’s resolute ambiguity. Subsequently, these themes are related to Barthes’ reflection on the connection between literature and utopia, identifying some of its forms and figures, and on the problem of literature and referentiality.
