This essay, studying the writer’s recommendations for the editions of his books underlines, from a new point of view, Leopardi’s ideas regarding his texts and their readers.

Giacomo Leopardi fu molto attento alle caratteristiche delle edizioni che trasmettevano i suoi testi e i testi del passato, soprattutto quelli da lui curati, discutendo con gli stampatori gli aspetti della messa in pagina, della grafia, della correzione, delle modalità di stampa e persino della carta.
