La curiosità per i "Sermoni" di Giuseppe Zanoja, pubblicati a Milano nel 1809 a cura di Giuseppe Bossi, nasce da un equivoco che indusse alcuni illustri letterati contemporanei ad attribuire uno dei componimenti al Parini. L’errore rivela il valore tutt’altro che mediocre della poesia dello Zanoja, giustificando l’interesse per una nuova edizione delle satire, basata sullo studio della tradizione manoscritta e a stampa, che si propone di riscoprire un poeta poco conosciuto, ma significativo nel quadro della tradizione che riprese la lezione del grande poeta del "Giorno".
