- La Svizzera, paese plurilingue per statuto, ha partecipato attivamente agli studi preparatori del QCER, ne ha recepiti i principii nei propri documenti strategici per l’insegnamento delle lingue nella scuola pubblica. A programmi innovativi esplicitamente ispirati al principio di multiculturalità, non fanno però sempre seguito pratiche corrispondenti. Inoltre, con l’entrata in vigore del concordato HARMOS, l’italiano ha subito un arretramento nella classifica delle lingue studiate, spesso superato dall’inglese che viene subito dopo le altre due lingue nazionali, francese e tedesco. In questo articolo si propone un’osservazione della condizione dell’italiano nella scuola svizzera, con un focus sui materiali didattici della Svizzera romanza, interrogandosi sul futuro possibile della lingua italiana in terra elvetica. Italian language in the swiss school, the Harmos curriculum and and in educational practicesSwitzerland, a multilingual country by statute, actively participated in the preparatory studies for the CEFR and incorporated its principles in strategic documents for language teaching in its public schools. However, innovative programs explicitly inspired by the principle of multiculturalism are not always followed up with corresponding practices. Moreover, with the entry into force of the HARMOS agreement, Italian has suffered a decline in the ranking of languages studied, often surpassed by English, which comes immediately after the two other national languages, French and German. In this article we observe the condition of Italian in the Swiss school, with a focus on the teaching materials in the French-speaking area of Switzerland, questioning the possible future of the Italian language in Switzerland.
