Recenti ricerche hanno consentito di individuare, lungo la costa orientale sarda, la presenza di componenti vicino-orientali, caratterizzate dalla presenza di anfore tipo Sant’Imbenia, negli insediamenti nuragici di Luthuthai a Siniscola, di Santo Stefano a Irgoli e nel centro storico di Posada, dove sono state rinvenute anche ceramiche fenicie. È inoltre emerso che nel corso della fase cartaginese Posada accoglie, probabilmente, una piazzaforte, posta a difesa e controllo di un vasto tratto della costa orientale e delle vie di penetrazione verso l’entroterra. Si segnalano infine, sempre nella costa orientale, altre testimonianze relative alla fase punica, provenienti da contesti terrestri e subacquei. Recent researches on the Sardinian Eastern coast have revealed the presence of near eastern traces, characterized by Sant’Imbenia-like amphoras in the nuraghic settlements of Luthuthai in Siniscola, Santo Stefano in Irgoli and in the historic centre of Posada, where Phoenician ceramics have been discovered as well. They have also revealed that, in the Carthaginian phase, Posada has probably held a stronghold set to defend and control a wide stretch of the Eastern coast and the ways to the inland parts. Finally, further traces in underwater and land contexts, relating to the Punic phase, have been found on the same Eastern coast.
